Lama Tenzin

Lama Tenzin was born in Nepal and joined Samdrub Dhargay Choling Monastery, Sonada in 1989.

He received full-ordained monks vows from the previous Kyabje Bokar Rinpoche and received all instructions and empowerments in the Shangpa Kagyu tradition.

He joined the three-year retreat centre at Lava, near Kalimpong, India, under the guidance of H.E. Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche.

In 2012, Lama Tenzin  completed his 3 year retreat and took up various responsibilities, including Chanting Master (“Omze”) and Vajra Master (“Dorje Lopon”) along with many other tasks at the Salagura Stupa Drodon Kunchab Chodey.

In 2015, Lama Tenzin was invited to Canada, as the Resident Teacher at KDOL, Niguma Meditation Centre’s retreat centre on Saltspring Island.

Lama Sue

Lama Sue Salter (Karma Lhamo) has been a student of Kalu Rinpoche since 1974.

She completed the 3 year retreat at Palden Shangpa La Boulaye in France in 1980.

Subsequently she volunteered at KKC and KDOL – serving on the board of directors, as retreat coordinator, and teaching beginners Tibetan.  

Lama Sue also worked for many years as a registered nurse, and later as a registered social worker until retiring in 2018.

Kalu Rinpoche has appointed Lama Sue as the Senior Spiritual Teacher of Niguma Meditation Centre.
